/Glass has been a been a beautiful tile option for quite some time. Technically, records show that glass tile dates back to 500 AD when Byzantine artists began using it for decoration. At the turn of the century, the “Church of Gold” in Venice was constructed with glass mosaic art displayed throughout. From there, the glass tile trend really took off. We now see it in so many beautiful churches and historical buildings. In modern buildings, we tend to see it installed as a kitchen backsplash or in pools.
